Egyptian Sinfonietta

The Egyptian Sinfonietta is the result of a closer cooperation between the Egyptian Philharmonic Society and the Cairo Opera House. This cooperation, which has artistic, economic and social characteristics, makes the implementing of more ambitious projects quite possible.

The Ensemble is a continuation of the activity of the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, which was founded by Maestro El Saedi in 2003 and has become an acknowledged performer on the national serious music scene. The great success of the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra on its tour in five European countries in 2011 was the basis on which the activities of future plans are built.

The ensemble aspires a standard of performance that could enable the unfolding of the deep spiritual message latent in the masterpieces of classical music. On the other hand, it should promote and encourage professional and artistic attitudes that give young musicians the opportunity to practice chamber orchestral music on an artistically solid regular basis.

The orchestra’s series of concerts of the season 2012/2013 at the main hall of the Cairo Opera House featured first class soloists of international caliber.

The orchestra concerts on its European tour in June 2013 were met with standing ovations.
